Project Awareness and Engagement Update

March 31, 2021

This message was sent to: Deans, Senior Vice Presidents, and Vice Presidents

The Financials Modernization Project, comprised of staff from campus business units, Financial Services, and University Information Technology Services (UITS), established a project plan and conducted a campus readiness assessment in late 2019. Although the pandemic caused some delays, planning for this initiative moved forward in January 2021.

This multi-phase, multi-year system implementation will provide increased financial clarity, a more standardized Chart of Accounts, and more streamlined business processes for financial management at the University of Arizona.

Opportunities for building awareness and engagement with the University’s business community are an important part of a successful implementation. We look forward to substantial engagement with your areas and the campus financial community as we continue to take steps towards modernizing our financial system. Vendor demonstrations are being planned for April 28 and 29, 2021 and will provide an opportunity to learn more about the capabilities of a modern financial system. More information about the vendor demonstrations will be forthcoming.

In addition to this memo, we will be communicating with your business officers about the project and opportunities for engagement.

Sincerely,

Barry Brummund
Chief Information Officer
