Project is Underway

Preliminary work on the Financial System Modernization Project is now underway. This multi-phase, multi-year system implementation will provide increased financial clarity, a more standardized Chart of Accounts, and more streamlined business processes for financial management at the University of Arizona.
The project team, comprised of staff from Financial Services, University Information Technology Services (UITS), and campus business units, established a project plan and conducted a campus readiness assessment in late 2019. Although the pandemic caused some delays, planning for this initiative moved forward in January 2021.
Opportunities for building awareness and engagement with the University’s business community are an important part of a successful implementation. We look forward to substantial engagement with you as we continue to take steps towards modernizing our financial system. Vendor demonstrations, designed to aid in understanding the capabilities of a modern financial system, are scheduled for the mornings of April 28 and 29, 2021. Participation in these demonstrations will be the next opportunity for you to join us.
With this communication, we are reaching out to CABO and UFO governance members to identify from their college/division a primary and secondary representative to serve as a liaison to the Financials Modernization project. Although vendor demonstrations will be open to a broad audience of financials stakeholders, this list of representatives will have the benefit and the responsibility for providing recommendations and feedback following the demonstrations and throughout the Financial Modernization Project planning and implementation journey.
