Review and Mapping of Optional Chart of Accounts Elements

Now that contract negotiations are underway with Oracle, the selected vendor for Financials Modernization, we are pivoting to focus on reviewing and mapping the optional elements in the Chart of Accounts (COA). There are two goals for this much-needed work:

  • Clean-up existing values for project codes, sub-accounts, and sub-object codes, including closure of those that are no longer in use.
  • Map the optional chart values currently in use to the proposed new COA segments based on the draft definitions that have been previously shared.

What is needed from you?

We need your input to identify and map active values by Friday, March 25, 2022. Each active value needs to be either mapped to a proposed new COA segment based on how it is being used, or, marked as “Discontinue – Close.” Those marked as discontinued will be closed on your behalf by Financial Services. These tasks are integral to informing data mapping decisions and preparing for the implementation of Oracle ERP Cloud.

To simplify the process, we have created a resource where you can easily locate, filter and review these items. It includes instructions and a link to definitions that you can refer to at your convenience while completing this task. Registration for the biweekly Chart of Accounts Optional Element Mapping office hours, beginning on Friday, February 11, 2022, is available in EDGE Learning. Attendance is optional but encouraged for Liaisons who have questions or need assistance.
